Winterfest is accepting entries for the 2018 Winterfest Photography Contest December 8, 2017, through January 21, 2018 at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum Akeley Building, 200 Washington Ave., Grand Haven. No entries will be accepted after January 21, 2018.

January 25 – Thursday
Glow-Bowl at Mulligan’s Hollow
4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
$5.00 gets you a lift ticket for Glow-Bowl – the kick-off event of Winterfest. If it glows, flashes, or lights up, slap it on and glow it up! Battery LED lights look amazing with the hill lights out for the Glowbowl Parade!

Celebrate West Michigan talent and view the amazing photos of the 2018 Winterfest Photography Contest participants at our Art Reception.
Award winners will be announced at 7:00 pm.

Cardboard Sled Build Night
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Mary A. White Gymnasium
If you waited until the last minute to build a sled, no worries. Or maybe you need to put the finishing touches on your mostly-done sled. Bring it and work on it. Either way, this is the event for you. Kids of all ages welcome. Cardboard and building supplies provided. We’ll even transport the sled to the hill the next morning for those of you without trucks or trailers. Come get your corrugated paper product race machine ready to fly!

Downtown Bars and Pubs
Start at your favorite downtown establishment and make your way around to all the great bars and brew pubs downtown. Buy some cards for $5 each and build the best hand you can for a chance to win $250 and other prizes. All proceeds go to help build the new Imagination Station.
January 27 – Saturday
Family Dog Pull
Registration at 9:00 am. Races from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Mulligan’s Hollow. Gear up for the most fun that you can have with a saucer sled and a four-legged friend. Children of all ages are welcome. More info coming soon.

Cardboard Sled Race
Registration: 10:00 am. Sled Judging: 10:30 am. Races begin: 11:00 am at Mulligan’s Hollow. Build a cardboard sled and race it down the snowy hill at Mulligan’s Hollow. Sleds must pass inspection to participate. Compete in contests and have fun! For registration forms, rules, and more information stop by the Visitors Bureau or go HERE.

Snow Angel Contest
2:30 pm. – Come make a snow angel along Y Drive. Come by after the Cardboard Sled Race or pop out from inside at Kids’ Day and create a colorful snow angel. We provide the decorating materials. No need to register ahead of time, just show up and make pretty angels in the snow. All ages welcome!

Jack Frost’s Winter Warmer
2:00 pm Tiki bar opens • After a long day of dog pulls and cardboard sled races stop out to Jack’s (located inside the Holiday Inn) and warm up next to our Tiki Bar with one of our signature Rum Bombers and enjoy the ice sculpting. A free event to attend with free hot chocolate and cookies for the kids, along with some fun activities!
Winterfest BONFIRE BASH

Come warm your buns by the fires… a dozen fire pits right downtown. Music, movies on the large screen, fire jugglers, Long Johns Run, and more. A fabulous winter blast outside next to the fires. All ages welcome. It’s the middle of winter… let’s roast some marshmallows by the fire.
Ice Cream Eating Contest
• 4:00 pm – DURING THE BONFIRE BASH
Eat ice cream. As fast as you can. Outside. In the middle of winter. Without your hands. Yeah, this is a whole new level of pure Winterfest fun! The $10 entry fee raises money for the new Imagination Station. Bid against your friends to change the flavor. Registration starts at 3:30.
• 6:00 pm – DURING THE BONFIRE BASH
We’re running through town in our pajamas! Fun and prizes for an exciting run around downtown from the Bonfire Bash and back.
6:00PM – The Sleepwalker .62 – Join us for the free, fun, family run up the snowmelted sidewalks and back. No registration required. Just show up in your pajamas and have some fun!
6:30 pm – The Sleepwalker 2.62 – Register for this fundraising fun run and help us rebuild the Imagination Station. This family friendly 2.62 mile jaunt in your pajamas will take you up Washington, around town, and back again. It’s the most fun you’ll have in your longjohns this winter! Pre-register for $25. You can register at the event for $30.
Imagination Station Beer and Wine Tasting
• 2:00 – 7:00 pm – The Eagles
Join us at the Eagles clubhouse located at the corner of 2nd and Columbus for a fun fundraising time. $20 gets you in for beer and wine tasting, pizza, and entertainment. Silent and live auctions with all kinds of great items and adventures are up for grabs. Activities provided for the kids while you sample and bid. Come help us re-imagine!

Snowboard and Ski Competition
